What to Expect During the Trial Week.
Trial Week gives swimmers a chance to experience real Mariners practices in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. They’ll join our regular training sessions, meet the coaching team, and get a feel for how competitive swimming works at their age and level.
Practices include warm-ups, technique work, kicking, short sets, and fun team activities — all designed to help swimmers build on the skills they already have. Coaches guide them through each part of the session so they feel comfortable and supported.
By the end of the week, swimmers and families will have a clear sense of what being a Mariner looks and feels like: structured practices, encouraging teammates, and a community that helps every swimmer improve at their own pace.
Why the mariners.
The Pictou County Mariners offer a positive, confidence-building environment where young swimmers can grow, stay active, and be part of a supportive competitive team. Our coaches focus on helping swimmers improve technique, build strength and endurance, and develop healthy habits that carry over into all areas of life.
As a non-profit community club, we value teamwork, sportsmanship, and creating a place where swimmers feel encouraged, motivated, and proud of their progress. Whether your child is looking for new friendships, more challenge, or a fun way to stay active, the Mariners provide a welcoming pathway into competitive swimming.

Being part of the Pictou County Mariners means far more than just swimming laps. Our team is built on community, connection, and creating memorable experiences in and out of the pool. From fun practices and team events to community involvement and exciting competitions, our swimmers gain friendships, confidence, and a sense of belonging that lasts well beyond the water.
We’d love to meet your swimmer and welcome them to the Mariners community.
