Swim-a-Thon 2026

Support our swimmers as they take on the challenge in the pool while raising funds to strengthen our club.

Pictou County Mariners Swim-a-Thon

This year the Pictou County Mariners are excited to host a Swim-a-Thon, it has been MANY years since we have done one and the kids are all excited to get swimming and test out their endurance.

During the event, our swimmers will challenge themselves in the pool while raising funds to support the growth of our club and the athletes who train and compete right here in our community.

Funds raised will help purchase training equipment and support the ongoing costs of running a strong swim program for our swimmers.

From our newest swimmers all the way through to our AAA competitors, every member of the Mariners will be taking part as we come together to make our first Swim-a-Thon a success.

What is a Swim-a-Thon?

A Swim-a-Thon is an in-pool challenge where swimmers complete a set number of laps while raising donations from friends, family, and supporters.

Each swimmer creates their own fundraising page and shares it with people who want to support them.

The event is part of Swimming Canada’s national fundraising program which helps clubs across the country continue to grow and provide opportunities for young swimmers.

Why We Are Fundraising?

Funds raised through our Swim-a-Thon help support:

• New training equipment for swimmers
• General club operating costs
• Development opportunities for our athletes
• Creating a positive and supportive team environment

Every donation helps strengthen the Pictou County Mariners and supports the athletes who represent our community in the pool.

Swim-a-Thon Event

Our 2026 Swim-a-Thon will take place on:

April 13

During the event, swimmers will challenge themselves to complete a set number of laps within their practice time.
The number of laps will be determined by our coaches based on the swimmer’s training group and level — ensuring the challenge is appropriate for everyone from our youngest swimmers to our most experienced competitors.

It’s always a fun and energetic team event that brings the whole club together.

help us reach our goal

This year the Pictou County Mariners are working toward a team fundraising goal to help support equipment purchases and the ongoing costs of running our swim programs. Every donation — big or small — helps move us closer to our goal and supports the swimmers who represent our community in the pool. Together, our swimmers, families, and supporters can make a big impact.

Team Goal: $5,000
